Im einzelnen wird beim Einsetzen des Streckenzählwerkes (22) in eine entsprechende Halterung eines Gehäusebauelementes (18) des Fahrtschreibers eine Grobausrichtung erzielt. Beim nachfolgenden Befestigen einer das Zählerfenster (13) aufweisenden Abdeckung (5) an dem Gehäusebauelement (18) mittels der Schrauben (24 und 25) ergibt sich, indem eine Blattfeder (47) wirksam wird und Ausrichtmittel (45,46) mit entsprechenden Richtelementen (43, 44) in Eingriff gehen, eine Feinausrichtung des Streckenzählwerkes (22) bezüglich des Zählerfensters (13).
